Often, the most challenging part of PSM is attempting to interpret and convert the PSM element requirements into practices that are unique to a business. It is not uncommon to see an organization interpreting PSM elements differently than some other organization. Some companies tend to interpret the regulation in a minimalistic manner or as one can say limited to compliance. The important point to understand is that by taking a minimalistic approach to PSM, companies are also minimizing the benefits that their facilities could receive otherwise.
